Cannavaro a resident of Kalispell, Montana has worked and studied among the Blackfeet people in Montana for over 24 years. As the former owner of two trading posts, one of which housed a tipi manufacturing facility, Cannavaro has gained valuable experience in all facets of tipi making, set-up and tipi problem solving.
Cannavaro, known among the Blackfeet as Akaupunni (Many Butterfly) was adopted by the Blackfeet in 1990. He spent extensive time studying with the late Mike Swims Under; Mary Little Bull; and George Kicking Woman of the Blackfeet Nation in Montana. How To Set Up A Blackfoot Lodge was accepted into the archives of the Montana Blackfeet in 2004.
